Orthodontics for Children

Big Dreams for Little Smiles

Dr. Pickett wants to preface the following by saying that there are definitely cases that could benefit from early, Phase I treatment (before all the permanent teeth have erupted). However, he feels there is a lot of early treatment that is being presented outside of his office. Whenever possible, he prefers to wait to start treatment until all of the permanent teeth have erupted, typically between ages 12-14. If Dr. Pickett feels Phase I treatment is indicated for your child, he will take time to thoroughly explain his recommendation. He wants to make sure that every parent has a strong understanding of the justification for early treatment.

Orthodontics for Teens

Guiding Your Teen to a Confident Smile

Giving your teenager the gift of a healthy, beautiful smile is one of the best things you can do for their confidence. A straight, radiant smile positively impacts every aspect of their life, from school to friendships and beyond.

At Pickett Orthodontics, we take that responsibility seriously.
That’s why we offer personalized treatment plans designed to enhance your teen’s unique smile. We also know how busy family schedules can get, so we work to make every step of treatment as seamless and convenient as possible for both teens and parents.

Why Treatment Matters

Helping Your Teenager

The teenage years are full of firsts — first dances, first selfies, and first steps toward independence. During this exciting time, a confident smile can help your teen feel more self-assured, especially in a world where social media and peer interactions play a big role.

At Pickett Orthodontics, we’re not just straightening teeth; we’re helping your teen gain the confidence to tackle these formative years with pride.

Healthy Smiles for Life

Teen orthodontic treatment is about more than aesthetics — it’s also the foundation for long-term oral health. Properly aligned teeth improve function and reduce the risk of future issues like gum disease, tooth decay, and TMJ disorders.

Our Lifetime Retainers are a tool that will continue your teen’s orthodontic success.
By investing in orthodontics now, you’re saving your teen from potential complications and costly treatments down the road, giving them a smile that lasts a lifetime.

Lifetime Retainers

At Pickett Orthodontics, we're committed to helping you maintain your beautiful smile for a lifetime. Our lifetime retainers program is designed to keep your teeth aligned long after your treatment so you can enjoy lasting results.

Whether you're exploring orthodontic care for yourself or your teen, our Lifetime Retainers option is a convenient way to preserve every smile milestone.

Why Consider Adult Orthodontics?

Adult orthodontic treatment isn’t just about achieving a straighter smile — it’s about improving your oral health, boosting your confidence, and making your life easier. Here are a few reasons why braces or aligners might be the right choice for you:

Look Good, Feel Great

Crooked teeth or gaps you’ve been self-conscious about for years can finally be a thing of the past. Dr. Pickett uses advanced orthodontic treatments to give you a smile you’re proud to show off.

With straight teeth and a confident smile, you’ll feel ready to take on everything life throws your way, from career goals to personal milestones.

Teeth Can Move Back

Teeth can be stubborn. They don’t stay in the same position forever. Even if your teeth were perfectly aligned in your teens, they may shift over time, leading to jaw pain, difficulty cleaning, or changes in your smile.

With orthodontic care from Dr. Pickett, you can address these issues and get back to feeling comfortable and confident in your smile.

Maintain Dental Health

Misaligned teeth can lead to a range of dental problems, including tooth decay, gum disease, and abnormal wear on your enamel. They can also make it harder to chew or clean your teeth effectively.

By addressing alignment issues now, you’re improving your smile and preventing potential complications down the road. It’s an investment in both your appearance and your health.
